About the Artist
Meet the Creative Mind

Shekoli Swakweku,
Teyotsi:tyut ní: yukyâts.,
anowal niwaki’taló:tʌ. Sheku Everyone, my name is Teyotsi:tyut.
My English name is Allyson Doxtator, and I am Turtle Clan.
I come from Onyota’a:ka and Aamjiwnaang First Nation. My journey with beading began around the age of 9, when my older sister introduced me to the craft. It started as a process of trial and error, but by 14, I found myself deeply connected to it. Today, I specialize in raised beadwork, sewing, and most recently, quillwork — a new passion I’ve self-taught and continue to explore.
Beading has always been more than a hobby - it’s a meaningful outlet and a way to stay connected to my culture. It brings me joy, healing, purpose, and I hope to pass it on to future generations.
I currently live in London, Ontario with my husband and two wonderful children. I’m incredibly grateful for this way of life, and I look forward to sharing more of my work, my growth, and the beauty of our traditions through my art.
